Great Card Messages for Father’s Day

Writing a message in any greeting card can be difficult, but Father’s Day cards seem to be more challenging than cards for other occasions.  You want to say just the right thing to your dad, but you don’t want to sound too sappy or insincere.  If you’re having difficulties coming up with the right message, maybe reading this list of popular messages will help.

•    Dad, you have been there for me all of my life. Thank you for giving me everything I needed and a lot more.

•    Happy Father’s Day! You have been a great role model and inspiration to me.

•    Thanks for acting like a kid when I was a kid, a friend when I needed a friend, and my dad when I needed my dad.

•    I didn’t realize how important it was to have a dad like you when I was growing up.  Now I do.  Happy Father’s Day!

•    I’m happy to have a dad who is cool enough to hang out with!

•    Dad, I can’t imagine what life would have been like without you.

•    Has anyone ever made you realize how much of your life you gave up just to raise me? Thank you for sacrificing so much!

•    Thank you for helping me become the person I am today.

•    Some of my friends didn’t have a dad when they were growing up. I’m thankful for you.

•    You watched out for me, taught me, laughed with me, and loved me.  Thanks for being the best dad anyone could ask for.

•    Happy Father’s Day to the dad who loved me enough to teach me some tough lessons, even when I didn’t want to learn them.

•    Dad, you have been one of my greatest influences in life.  You have taught me many things, I’m a better person because of you.

•    Dad, I think God knew what He was doing when He made you my dad.  He knew that it would take someone patient, wise, and loving to raise someone as willful as I am.

•    Dad, you are my hero and my role model. Thanks for being there and being such a great example.

You could also write about one of the best times you and your dad spent together or thank him for something amazing he did for you.

Tips for a Great Father’s Day Party

Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 17th.  Are you having Dad and the rest of the family over for an awesome Father’s Day party?  If you are, you may be wondering exactly what a Father’s Day party entails.  After all, it’s not like Christmas or the Fourth of July, holidays where there are some set traditions and decorations.  If you want to throw an amazing Father’s Day party, here are a few ideas and tips.

•    Ask for help with the meal.  If you have siblings, ask them to come over early or to bring side dishes or desserts.

•    You don’t have to do a huge meal.  If you don’t want to cook, you can go out to lunch at a restaurant and then have finger foods and snacks at your home while you visit.

•    Have something for the kids to do.  Father’s Day doesn’t involve everyone opening gifts or hunting Easter eggs—it’s more of an adult’s holiday, especially once Dad has opened his gifts.  If the weather permits, have an outdoor game for the kids.

•    Have a variety of snacks for after lunch.  While sweets or chips are great, be sure to have some veggies or fruit on hand for those who have a restricted diet or who are avoiding junk food.

•    How do you decorate for Father’s Day?  If you want a centerpiece or want to decorate a cake, go with Dad’s hobbies.  A round cake decorated like a baseball works for a baseball fan.  Your decorations are probably going to be more personal for Father’s Day.

•    For the menu, ask Dad what he would like.  This is one of those days when he can dictate the entire menu and you should accommodate him.  If he doesn’t give you any helpful ideas, go with foods you know he likes.

•    Don’t forget a cool gift for Dad!  While ties and button up shirts are stereotypical gifts, there’s no reason not to buy one for Dad if he wants it.  Other great gifts include things like an ebook reader, his favorite TV show on DVD, or some fishing equipment.  Dad might also like some of our more masculine flower arrangements, plants, or gift baskets.  We have many different Father’s Day flower arrangements in Houston, TX.
